Centuries ago a unique method of unarmed combat was developed and taught solely to Chinese priests of a Quan Yem monastery. Then one fateful day a priest left the monastery and returned to his family in the “outside” world. Swearing them to silence, he trained his family in the monastery’s secret fighting style which was then passed down through the generations. One of the priests’ descendants later came to the United States under the assumed name of Jimmy H. Woo. Here Jimmy broke his family’s legacy by teaching this secret method to anyone who wanted to learn.
He called it Kung Fu San Soo.
Jimmy passed away in 2001. He frequently quoted these two statements which are as true today to our students as when he was alive.
“You can take my life but not my confidence!”
“Do your best the best way you know how!”
